Cozy museum with exhibits dedicated to the area's history, including fossils & an Edwardian kitchen.

Almost every aspect of Bognor’s history is represented, from rocks and fossils millions of years old, to before the town was founded through to the present day.
With around 10,000 visitors a year, the Museum is a popular attraction. Exhibits include displays of vintage cameras, fossils, an Edwardian kitchen and the story of Bathing Machine Proprietor Mary Wheatland. The Ron Simpson Wireless Collection is named after a former Curator with a passion for old radios who bequeathed his own extensive collection to the Museum.

Please remember that like many small local museums the people who do most of the hard work are volunteers and donations from the public are an important source of income that helps keep the Museum open.

Opening Times & Location

The Museum is now closed until Saturday 24th March 2018 10am. (We always reopen the weekend before Easter.)

Normal opening hours Tuesday - Sunday, plus Bank Holidays 10am - 4pm until the end of October, then 1-26 November 10am-1pm. Then closed for the Winter.

​We are just off the seafront, to the right hand side of The Royal Norfolk Hotel, which is to the west of the Pier - see map below.

We are disabled-friendly, with a ramped access, disabled toilet and even a wheelchair if required.
